Quest for T. Rex
Kansas City Science on Tap. On Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 7:30 pm, KU paleontologist Dr. David Burnham will present his program on Quest for T.REX. This is a free event and will be at Bier Station, 120 E. Gregory, KCMO.
Dr. Burnham is scheduled to be our club speaker at the Sept. 4, 2018 regular meeting, and among other related topics, will be discussing the summer’s MT fossil dig
The Plate Tectonics History of the World, as Seen in Northern Scotland
A free lecture, “The Plate Tectonics History of the World, as Seen in Northern Scotland” will be presented by geologist Bill Shefchik on June 21st at 7:00 pm at Linda Hall Library, 5109 Cherry St., KCMO.
Field Trip Information
A trip to the Kaw river has been rescheduled to Saturday, May 5th weather permitting. 4 club members are signed up for this trip.
A trip to dig for fossils at the Caulhoon bluffs on the north side of Topeka is scheduled for Saturday May 19th. This is where Deb and Norm have found trilobites. 6 club members are signed up for this trip.
The club will return to the Whetstine Quarry in Troy, KS on May 27, 2018. Anyone interested is going should call Mike Purduski at (913) 424-5458 for details. The Quarry is located west of St. Joseph MO. 10 club members are signed up for this trip.
